Surreal
Today is my last day at work. Writing “Maternity Leave” on my out of office and on our office board was so surreal. I actually think I teared up. For so many years I have seen others writing that and I would just think to myself “one day…” Well that day is finally here and Im off. Is this really happening to me? In 2 months we will be parents. Its totally and utterly overwhelming.
Hope to update more often!
Yay Dee! What a great milestone!
And I so relate… going on maternity leave was the weirdest most surreal thing, talking about it and writing about it was so foreign!
FANTASTIC! You are going to love this time off 🙂
Did you have a work baby shower?
Apparently its planned for the end of Oct (supposed to be a suprise but my hubby told me – he knows the rules!)
LOL he is fantastic! My hubby also knows the rules – no surprises for me, thankyouverymuch 🙂
How wonderful Dee! Yes this is your time to write “Maternity Leave on that board.” It is very hard and so amazing to believe that in 2 months we’ll be parents.
Oh that’s wonderful news! 🙂
It’s those little things that can have a big emotional impact. I’m very happy for you! 🙂
Enjoy your rest before your babies arrived!!
Wonderful news Dee. Enjoy the final 2 months at home and preparing for the girls arrival. I cant believe time has flown by so fast and your are already going on maternity leave. Its just like yesterday when you announced your triple BFP.
All the best for the final stretch, and take care of the 4 of you.

Enjoy the maternity leave! I hope all goes well for your last two months. I had a great feeling when I had those steroid shots – great to know that their lungs are taken care of as much as one humanly can.
About the weight gain – I am a bit confused. My gynea wanted me to pick up between 18 and 22 kg with twins (I did 15kg – had problems eating), but I guess that is all equal as trips would come earlier?
My gynae never gave me a goal weight. All he said was dont over-do it. I think 20kgs is about right. I eat like a machine anyways!
It must be an amazing feeling Dee! Enjoy your leave and all that the next few months will bring ;0) xx
Hapy Mternity Leave!! What a milestone!! I know it’s absolutely incredible to think this is actually happening. Love, Fran
So, so happy for you. I also figured out when my baby shower was but never in my wildest dreams did I expect my mom to have flown up for it. When I walked in and saw her, I just burst into tears and I’m not the crying type. Everyone was crying and she just said, “I wouldn’t have missed this for the world”. She knew how precious and hard-fought our baby was and the many, many showers that I’d had to attend with a heavy heart. It’s so awesome that you’re getting your turn at last, enjoy every moment, and especially being able to “rest” a bit now.
Congrats on starting maternity leave. That’s awesome you get time before they come. I wanted to so bad but couldn’t afford it. Then she was 2 weeks early and I had to miss the last week of school! It was crazy. I hope these last two months are amazing. Rest a lot, you’re going to need it (I hated it when people said that to me, but unfortunately it was really true – and I only have one!)
Yay! One of many awesome milestones to come! Happy maternity leave to you 🙂
Congrats! It’s a fantastic feeling, hey? I’m also off from today. Hooray 🙂
Enjoy it! Good luck with the last 2 months and getting ready for your girls’ arrival.
It really makes me so happy to read this! Well done and congrats. I’ll be thinking of you lots and can’t wait to read your birth story.
At long last after such a long journey. Hope you are going to milk that maternity leave to take it easy before those girls arrive.
Victory ! All the best for the last stretch. Take lots of rest and time to enjoy … ! It is your turn !!
Oh wonderful!!! Enjoy this time leave before babies come. Doubt it’s gonna be a break when they get here. But it’s gonna be fun busy not bad busy!!! Well done for getting this far! I’m so happy for you!
Enjoy the time off! And hope you get to enjoy being out some and doing things–that you won’t have time for after the girls come.
This is so exciting Dee! I know with each “society” milestone we reach that fertiles don’t even recognize or notice, I get a little thrill about it. Post some more pics! My GC is pregnant with twins and I love seeing the differences in tummy sizes.
So so happy that you got to experience this surreal moment! Enjoy the time off before your world changes for the best 🙂
